Versteeg shares Cup with military, police in Lethbridge

Kris Versteeg spent his day with the Stanley Cup in his hometown of Lethbridge, Alberta on Monday.

The Chicago Blackhawks forward, along with his wife Brittany, posed with their infant son Jaxson in the Cup. Jaxson was born June 2, two weeks before Chicago won its third Cup in six seasons.

Versteeg also brought the Cup for a few hours to the ENMAX Centre in Lethbridge, where fans were able to take pictures and donate money to charity. He took photos with military and police before the viewing.

"In Canada, that's the trophy, so anytime you can show it to the fans and show them how precious it is, that's always great to do," Versteeg told Global News. "It was exciting to bring it to show everybody and it was a lot of fun."

Versteeg had 14 goals and 34 points in 61 regular-season games with the Blackhawks. He had one goal in 12 Stanley Cup Playoff games. Versteeg won the Stanley Cup for the second time; he played for the 2010 Blackhawks champions.
