Kyle Connor, No. 13 on NHL Central Scouting's final ranking of the top North American skaters eligible for the 2015 NHL Draft, concluded his third season with the Youngstown Phantoms of the United States Hockey League in 2014-15. Committed to the University of Michigan in 2015-16, the 6-foot-1, 177-pound center had 34 goals and league-leading 80 points in 56 games for the Phantoms this season. Connor has offered to maintain a blog for NHL.com leading up to the 2015 NHL Draft in Sunrise, Fla. His latest entry comes from the NHL Scouting Combine in Buffalo.

Hello hockey fans,

I'm talking to you from just inside First Niagara Center during the third day of interviewing here at the NHL Scouting Combine. I arrived in Buffalo on Sunday night and got acquainted with some of the other players invited to the Combine.

Buffalo has been great. I like the fact the interviews are at First Niagara Center where the Sabres play their games. HarborCenter is a first-class facility.

I am roommates with [Waterloo Black Hawks forward] Brock Boeser. We're good friends so it's cool getting to spend the week with him. We have plenty of stories to tell from the United States Hockey League.

I like the interviewing stage of the Combine. It's been really neat to meet the general managers and the scouts of each of the NHL teams. I want to establish a good relationship with the teams. I want to get to know their staff so that they have a general feel as to who I am not just as a player, but as a person. I know that's what they're trying to figure out through their questioning.

I'm looking forward to the fitness tests. I have tried both bike tests. There isn't one that's easier than the other; they are both tough. It's just something you have to do and try to have fun with the process. So I'm looking forward to the testing.

On Tuesday night we had a reception at the Lexus Club [at First Niagara Center] and that was a lot of fun. It's just cool catching up with old friends and meeting new people. It's all part of the process.

Thanks for reading. I'll check back in a few days.
