Arizona Coyotes forward Mikkel Boedker joined NHL Live to discuss his first career hat trick in Arizona's 7-4 win against the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday.

Boedker, the eighth pick in the 2008 NHL Draft, also had an assist as part of a career-high four-point night in a win that improved the Coyotes' record to 2-0-1.

"It's always fun to contribute, always fun to score when you win and being able to contribute that way," Boedker said. "[Wednesday] night it came full circle and I ended up getting the third goal. It's obviously a big, new experience and a fun experience."

Boedker has goals in three games to start the season, which ties his career-long goal streak. His five goals entered Thursday trailing New York Rangers forward Rick Nash's six for the League lead. A big part of his early success has been the chemistry he's forged with linemates Antoine Vermette and Shane Doan, who have combined for 12 points on the young season.

"It's big part of your game when you find chemistry with the guys," Boedker said. "When you find two guys that you're real comfortable with, and I've found that with Vermette and Doan, they seem to be able to find me in the right areas and we work good as a unit, so that's obviously real important."
