Kings to host parade and rally on Monday

The Los Angeles Kings will host a parade and celebratory rally Monday in honor of the team's second Stanley Cup championship in three seasons.

Fans can follow the Kings' celebration live on NHL Network starting at 2 p.m. ET.

The celebration will begin at noon PT at the corner of Figueroa and West 5th Streets, with the city of Los Angeles' traditional parade of championship teams traveling down Figueroa to Staples Center and L.A. Live. The parade is expected to take 30-45 minutes and will include players and their families, coaches, staff, broadcasters, alumni, the Ice Crew, mascot and other VIPs, along with the Stanley Cup, Conn Smythe Trophy and Clarence Campbell Bowl.

The Kings encourage fans planning to attend the parade to line the one-mile Figueroa Street route between 5th Street to the north and Chick Hearn Court to the south (on both sides of the street). All immediate areas adjacent to Staples Center and L.A. Live will be controlled by the Los Angeles Police Department and Department of Transportation, with limited access.

There also will be a rally at Staples Center following the parade. Ticket-holders will be able to watch the parade on the arena's viewing screens before the rally, which will include video highlights from the season, introductions of the team, the coaching staff and executives with speeches and reactions from many of the players in addition to special presentations.

The Kings became Stanley Cup champions for the second time in three seasons when defenseman Alec Martinez scored in double overtime to give the Kings a 3-2 win against the New York Rangers in Game 5 of the Final.
