Thatcher Demko completed his freshman season at Boston College in 2013-14. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound goaltender went 16-5-3 with a 2.24 goals-against average and .919 save percentage and earned All Hockey East Rookie Team honors and Hockey East honorable mention. Demko, who played his minor hockey in Southern California before joining the United States National Team Development Program in 2012-13, is No. 1 on NHL Central Scouting's final list of the top North American goalies eligible for the 2014 NHL Draft. He has offered to maintain a blog for NHL.com that will chronicle his season leading up to the 2014 NHL Draft.

Hey guys!

I am heading out to the NHL Scouting Combine [on Monday]. I've heard it's a good experience and I'm very excited. I've talked to some friends who went during their draft years so I think I have a little bit of an idea as to what to expect.

I'm also very excited to meet some of the other players that are considered prospects for the NHL Draft. The 2014 IIHF World Championship just ended and although the United States didn't win, it was great to see two teammates have great tournaments; Johnny Gaudreau and Kevin Hayes represented our country well while they were out there.

Anyway, wish me luck out in Toronto!

Thatcher
