Blackhawks' Leddy bracing for tough Game 2

Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Nick Leddy joined NHL Live to discuss the Western Conference Final against the Los Angeles Kings.

The Blackhawks lead the best-of-7 series 1-0 with Game 2 on Wednesday at United Center (8 p.m. ET; NBCSN, TSN, RDS). Dating back to last year's conference final, Chicago has won 10 of its past 12 games against L.A.

"We know it's going to be very a hard-fought game whenever we play the Kings," Leddy said. "[Goalie] Corey [Crawford] had some great stops last game and very timely stops, and we had some very timely goals. Special teams are good and it's worked out in our favor."

Another key to victory is containing the Kings' top line. The Blackhawks defense was able to neutralize the trio of Dustin Brown, Anze Kopitar and Marian Gaborik, who entered Game 1 with a combined 16 goals and 24 assists in 14 playoff games.

"They're obviously very skilled and you want to get the puck out of their hands as quick as possible," Leddy said. "The quicker us defensemen can get on their top guys and get them to make decisions earlier than they want to is huge."
