Left wing Seamus Malone is in his second season with the Dubuque Fighting Saints of the United States Hockey League. The 5-foot-10, 165-pound left-handed shot, who was born in Naperville, Ill., is a "B"-rated skater on NHL Central Scouting's preliminary players to watch list from the USHL. Regarded as a skilled forward, Malone had six goals, 27 points and a plus-12 rating in 50 games for the Fighting Saints in 2012-13. Committed to the University of Wisconsin for the fall of 2015, Malone has offered to maintain a blog while at the CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospect's Game in Pittsburgh.

Hi everyone!

Well, the All-American Prospect Game is over and I can honestly say I really had a great time.

The first period was a little shaky out there since everyone was getting their first shift out of the way in the first period. But once the second period got going, everybody picked it up a notch and you could tell the guys wanted to make the best of it. I thought the second-period pace really started to pick up, but it really went full throttle in the third [when the teams combined for six goals].

I felt, overall, I did pretty well in the game. There are a lot of talented players out there. I had some chances at the net and drove with the puck when I could and played pretty well defensively. I was happy with my game, but there's always room for improvement.

There's no rest for the weary even though the game just ended. I have two more games this weekend so I'll have to get through those, and for the rest of the season just play my game and play a team game in order to try and help my team win another Clark Cup.

I'll just keep playing my game and do everything I have to do. If I'm not making plays offensively, I have to play defensive. If I can make plays, I'll do that and score some goals and contribute to the team any way I can.

I want to thank USA Hockey for inviting me to the All-American Prospects Game; it was an unbelievable experience here in Pittsburgh. For anyone down the road who gets invited to this game, the best message I can tell you is to just enjoy it and have a great time. I sure did.
