The Anaheim Ducks trimmed their roster to 35 players Monday night, sending six players to the Norfolk Admirals in the American Hockey League.

Among those demoted were goaltender John Gibson, the club’s second-round pick (No. 39) in 2011. Gibson went 17-9-1 with a 2.41 goals-against average and .928 save percentage in 27 games for the Kitchener Rangers in the Ontario Hockey League last season. The 20-year-old also helped the United States win the gold medal at the 2013 World Junior Championships. He had a 1.36 GAA and .955 save percentage in seven games and was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.

Also sent to Norfolk were defensemen Mat Clark, Kyle Cumiskey and Alex Grant, along with forwards Joseph Cramarossa and Stefan Noesen.
