Carrier scores in OT to give Blues prospects win

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. -- Left wing William Carrier, a 2013 second-round pick (No. 57) of the St. Louis Blues, scored 43 seconds into overtime to give his team a 3-2 victory over the Minnesota Wild on Friday during the second day of action in round-robin play at the Traverse City Tournament.

Carrier's goal came off an assist by Dmitrij Jaskin, a 2011 second-round pick (No. 41). The Blues (1-1-0) opened a 2-0 lead in the first period when Ty Rattie connected for his first two goals of the tournament in the opening 4:37.

Rattie, selected No. 31 in the second round of the 2011 draft, had 48 goals in 62 games last season for the Western Hockey League champion Portland Winterhawks.

The Wild (0-1-1) scored twice in the third on goals by Carter Sandlak and 2012 second-round choice (No. 46) Raphael Bussieres. Bussieres' goal, which came on the power play and with the goalie pulled for an extra attacker, was scored with 44 seconds remaining in regulation.

Bussieres signed an entry-level contract with the Wild in May after scoring 29 goals and 39 assists with a plus-27 rating in 60 games for the Baie-Comeau Drakkar of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

St. Louis goalie Jordan Binnington, a 2011 third-round choice (No. 88), made 32 saves. The Wild held a 34-22 shot advantage.
