BOSTON -- Chicago Blackhawks right wing Marian Hossa was scratched from the lineup for Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final on Monday night at TD Garden. Ben Smith replaced Hossa in the lineup.

Hossa was injured during warmups, according to the Blackhawks. However, coach Joel Qunneville said after the game that was not the case. Hossa is tied with Patrick Sharp for the team lead with 15 points in 19 games. He has seven goals and eight assists.

Hossa was playing on the top line with Jonathan Toews and Brandon Saad.

Smith is making his first appearance in the Stanley Cup Playoffs since 2011, when he scored three goals in seven games in the Western Conference Quarterfinals against the Vancouver Canucks. He scored one goal in the only game he played in for the Blackhawks during the regular season.
