Kings mum on Stoll's return to lineup

ROSEMONT, Ill. -- Los Angeles Kings coach Darryl Sutter would not give an update on the status of concussed center Jarret Stoll when asked for one at the team's media availability Friday.

"Nope," is all Sutter said.

But Stoll's chances of playing in Game 1 of the Western Conference Final against the Chicago Blackhawks at United Center on Saturday (5 p.m. ET; NBCSN, RDS, TSN) have to at least be getting better, considering he practiced in his regular spot on the third line between Dwight King and Trevor Lewis.

Stoll still hasn't taken any contact in practice Friday, but that's limited for every player at this time of the year. He shed his non-contact jersey Thursday.

Stoll hasn't played since Game 1 against the San Jose Sharks in the conference semifinals. He was concussed when he was hit in the head by Sharks forward Raffi Torres.

Stoll won 56 percent of his faceoffs during the regualr season and plays on the penalty kill.

"He's been our best faceoff guy all year, so that's another strength on the PK and even on the PP if he does play," center Anze Kopitar said. "It gives us a right-handed faceoff man that we didn't have. We did have Trevor [Lewis] for a little bit and he's been great, but getting Jarret back, if he does come back, that will add to our penalty killing too."

Here were the Kings lines at their practice Friday:

Dustin Brown - Anze Kopitar - Justin Williams

Dustin Penner - Mike Richards - Jeff Carter

Dwight King - Jarret Stoll - Trevor Lewis (Tyler Toffoli worked in)

Kyle Clifford - Colin Fraser - Brad Richardson (Jordan Nolan worked in)

Robyn Regehr - Drew Doughty

Rob Scuderi - Slava Voynov

Jake Muzzin - Matt Greene

Alec Martinez - Keaton Ellerby

Jonathan Quick

Jonathan Bernier
