Vancouver Canucks forward David Booth will be out 4-6 weeks, the team announced Tuesday via its official Twitter feed.

Booth suffered a groin injury Sunday during the off-ice testing phase of training camp, coach Alain Vigneault told the team's website. Booth underwent an MRI exam Monday that revealed the damage.

"He just pulled his groin," Vigneault told the Vancouver Sun. "Stuff happens, whether it be in testing or practice."

Booth scored 16 goals and added 13 assists in 56 games for the Canucks last season after being acquired from the Florida Panthers. A second-round pick by Florida in the 2004 NHL Draft, the 6-foot, 212-pounder has career totals of 103 goals and 196 points in 365 games.
