  • Played for the 2008 Memorial Cup Champion Spokane Chiefs, totaling six points (2-4--6) in four games on Spokane’s top line.
  • Had 14 points (6-8--14) in 21 playoff games, helping Spokane capture the WHL championship.
  • Was featured in the movie “In the Crease” which followed the California Wave’s run to the National Championship.
     
  • His nicknames are “Wahly, Wahler and Wahlrus” and he wears number 14 because it’s a multiple of seven and he always wore number seven when he was young.
  • Played on his first hockey team in Huntington Beach; also played one year with the Anaheim Junior Ducks, six years with the California Wave and one year with the Los Angeles Junior Kings.
  • Patterns his game after Ottawa’s Jason Spezza – “he is a great player with a lot of speed."
  • Credits his parents for having had a lot of influence on his career because of their support and sacrifice.
