• Appleby made 37 saves in Oshawa’s 2-1 overtime win over Kelowna in the championship game at the 2015 Memorial Cup. He posted a perfect 4-0 record and led all goaltenders in goals-against average (2.08) and save percentage (.915) to earn a spot on the tournament All-Star team, claim the Hap Emms Memorial Trophy as Outstanding Goaltender and guide the Generals to their fifth title in franchise history.

• He also posted a 16-5 record with a 2.24 goals-against average, .922 save percentage and two shutouts in the postseason en route to winning the Robertson Cup as Ontario Hockey League champions.

• In the 2014-15 regular season, Appleby set a franchise record for goals against-average (2.08) to help the Generals establish a club mark for goals against in one season (157). He compiled a 38-7-4 record as Oshawa also set new benchmarks for wins (51) and points (108) in one season.

• Appleby scored a goal into an empty net while playing for the North Bay Trappers Midget AAA team in 2010-11, before being selected in the second round (35th overall) by the Generals in the 2011 OHL Priority Selection.

• In 2011-12, the North Bay, Ont., native played with the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners in the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League.
