• Oettinger appeared in 35 games with Boston University as a freshman in 2016-17 and compiled a record of 21-11-3 (2.11 GAA, .927 SV%, 4 SO). His save percentage of .927 was tied with Collin Delia of Merrimack College for highest in the Hockey East conference.

• Oettinger made 56 saves to backstop the Terriers to a 4-3 double-overtime victory over the University of North Dakota to open the 2017 Frozen Four tournament.

• The 2016-17 season saw Oettinger named to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team. Other notable NHL goaltenders to receive the honor: Jimmy Howard (2002-03), Cory Schneider (2004-05), Ben Bishop (2005-06) and Connor Hellebuyck (2012-13). Oettinger was also named to the Hockey East Second All-Star Team and the New England Hockey Writers Division I All-Star Team.

• Oettinger appeared in 37 games with the USA Hockey Under-18 team in 2015-16 posting a record of 25-8-1 (2.38 GAA, .908 SV%, 2 SO).

• Internationally, the Lakeville, Minn. native backstopped the United States to a bronze medal at the 2016 Under-18 World Championship (4 GP) and a silver medal at the 2015 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge (3 GP), leading the tournament with a 1.34 goals-against average. He was also a member of the United States’ gold-medal entries at the 2017 World Junior Championship and the 2015 Under-18 World Championship.
