• Dermott led Otters defensemen with 37 assists in 2014-15, highlighted by a seven-game assist streak from Dec. 28 to Jan. 11 (0-12—12) – the longest such stretch by a defenseman in franchise history. In the postseason, he led all defensemen with 17 points (5-12—17) in 20 games to help Erie reach the Ontario Hockey League Championship Series.

• In 2013-14, Dermott tied for third in points among rookie defensemen to earn a spot on the OHL’s first All-Rookie Team. His plus-35 rating placed second among all rookies behind Mitchell Marner (No. 6 NA Skater) of the London Knights.

• Dermott played the 2012-13 season with the Newmarket Hurricanes, collecting 15 points (1-14—15) in 53 regular season games. He then matched that point total in 24 playoff contests (4-11—15) as the club came within one victory of capturing the Frank L. Buckland Trophy as Ontario Junior Hockey League champions.

• His most memorable hockey achievements came during his peewee season when he played with Connor McDavid (No. 1 NA Skater) and Sam Bennett (selected 4th overall by CGY in 2014) on the York Simcoe Express team that captured the Ontario Hockey Federation championship. The club also finished second at the legendary Tournoi International de Hockey Peewee in Quebec.
