• In the 2011 Western Hockey League playoffs, Wotherspoon recorded three goals, including one shorthanded (3-1--4) in 20 games, helping Portland reach the WHL final. The Winterhawks lost to the Kootney Ice in five games.

• Wotherspoon is one of four Portland Winterhawks ranked by Central Scouting this season -- he is joined by fellow defenseman Joe Morrow (No. 12 ranked) and forwards Sven Baertschi (No. 7 ranked) and Ty Rattie (No. 17 ranked). In 2010, eight players were drafted from Portland.

• He played his minor hockey for the Cloverdale Colts and one of his most memorable hockey moments was participating in the 2011 CHL Top Prospects Game – “it was an honor to be chosen”.
