• Shaw led the Screaming Eagles in goals (26) and points (46) in 2010-11, a tough task on a team that only had 18 wins this season.

• He got his start in hockey at the age of three when his mother and grandfather took him to the rink – “my grandfather was my goalie until my shot got too hard.”

• A product of Glace Bay Minor Hockey Association, he credits his father for having the most influence on his career – “he pushes me, motivates me and gave me the chance to better myself. He also coached me eight years in minor hockey”.

• His most memorable hockey moment was being drafted into the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League by Cape Breton in the first round with the draft held in Cape Breton.
