  • Finished third on the Spitfires with 34 goals and tied for the team lead with 15 power-play goals in 2007-08 – won Windsor’s award for Dedication and Determination.
  • Participated in the 2008 Under-18 IIHF World Championships as a member of Team Canada and was selected to the 2008 CHL Top Prospects Game.
  • His very first hockey team was the Skylight Donuts and he played for the Clarington Toros for seven years of his minor hockey career – he got his start in hockey on the outdoor pond, skating with his brother, Garrett, and dad, Gary.
  • His nickname is “Nemo” and he patterns his game after Toronto Maple Leafs’ Mats Sundin – “he is the total package”.
  • His most memorable hockey moment was winning an Ontario Minor Hockey Association Minor Midget championship in 2004-05 – “it was a huge tournament to win”.
  • If he could have dinner with any three people he would choose: Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux and Tiger Woods – “I admire all their accomplishments and I would like to meet them”.
