• His 2017-18 point total doubled that of his rookie campaign in 2016-17, when he recorded 14-15—29 in 59 games.

• His brother, Jordan Topping, was an alternate captain for the Tri-City Americans of the WHL in 2017-18 where he led the team in goals (38-42—80 in 72 GP).

• Growing up in Salt Spring Island, B.C., Topping would have to take a ferry to and from the rink because the closest ice surface to his childhood home was located on Vancouver Island.
