• McBain received the OJHL Top Prospect Award and was named OJHL First Team All-Prospect in 2017-18 after posting 21-37—58 in the regular season (48 GP) and 6-3—9 in the playoffs (4 GP).

• Internationally, McBain was a member of Canada’s gold medal-winning team at the 2017 Ivan Hlinka Memorial (3-2—5 in 5 GP) and captured a silver medal with Canada Black at the 2016 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge. He also represented his country at the 2018 Under-18 World Championship (1-2—3 in 5 GP) and tied for the tournament lead in points as an alternate captain for Canada East at the 2017 World Junior A Challenge (2-4—6 in 4 GP).

• His father, Andrew McBain, was drafted 8th overall by the Winnipeg Jets in 1983 and appeared in 608 career NHL games with the Jets, Penguins, Canucks and Senators.

• Has committed to Boston College for the 2018-19 season.
