• Svechnikov was awarded the Emms Family Award as OHL Rookie of the Year in 2017-18 after ranking first among OHL rookies with 40-32—72 in 2017-18 (44 GP). He averaged 1.64 points per game, placing first among rookies and fifth overall.

• He was named USHL Rookie of the Year in 2016-17 after finishing sixth in league scoring with the Muskegon Lumberjacks (29-29—58 in 48 GP).

• Earned tournament MVP honors at the 2016 World Junior A Challenge after leading all players in goals and points (8-4—12 in 4 GP).

• His brother, Evgeny Svechnikov, was drafted 19th overall by the Detroit Red Wings in 2015 and appeared in 14 games with the club in 2017-18.
