• He is related to former NHLers Jeff Beukeboom (second cousin) and Tom Thornbury (uncle). Beukeboom was drafted 19th overall in 1983 by the Oilers and went on to play 804 NHL games for Edmonton and the New York Rangers. Thornbury was drafted 49th overall in 1981 by the Penguins and played 14 games for Pittsburgh in 1983-84.
