Overtime is do-or-die, and it can go either way. We've just found a way to win the game. Last night's overtime was very intense. I thought both teams played well. There were a lot of chances for both teams, and it was great to see [Jeff Carter] get that goal in the end to win.
Stanley Cup Final Perspectives
Los Angeles Kings forward Colin Fraser is playing in his second Stanley Cup Final. Fraser, who won the Stanley Cup with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2010, is providing NHL.com with a player's perspective on the battle for hockey's Holy Grail.
In his third entry, Fraser writes about being back in Los Angeles after two more road wins.
OTHER PERSPECTIVES:
We have a lot of East Coast guys on our team, and some of the guys had a lot of family members at the game. Rob Scuderi is from Long Island and Jonathan Quick is from Connecticut. They had people there. I couldn't really tell who else had people there, but it was a lot of Kings fans near our locker room after the game.
It was pretty much like any another flight for. Some of the guys play cards, some guys watch movies and others pretty much just try to get some sleep. It is about six hours, so obviously it is a long flight.
I brought a couple of DVDs with me to watch, but I am a sleeper. I try to sleep on the plane after games, especially on the long flights because it feels like it makes the trip go faster.
A few of the guys had to go to the practice rink today for media interviews, and a few guys went in for some maintenance, but a lot of guys were able to stay away today. We didn't get home until really late, so it was a chance to get some extra rest and take a day off.
Tonight, we will all go as a team to a hotel downtown and stay there. We will have a meeting at the hotel and watch some video to prepare for the game tomorrow, and then we will be able to walk over to Staples Center for the skate in the morning.
It might seem weird to stay in a hotel in your home city, but we've been so successful on the road that I think part of it is it helps us keep that same mentality at home. When you're staying in a hotel and having meetings and being around the guys, it kind of still feels like a road game. It seems to have been working for us.
