At 7:55 of the first period in the Senators/Islanders game, video review upheld the referee's call on the ice that John Tavares centering pass deflected off Mark Streit's left skate and into the Senators net. According to rule 49.2 "A puck that deflects into the net off an attacking player's skate who does not use a distinct kicking motion is a legitimate goal." Good Goal Islanders.
Obviously a lot happened in a short period of time. At the end of the day, considering everything I went through, I really felt close to my teammates and I really feel like what we accomplished, I know we didn't win it all. ... I'm really proud of how we got there and what we did once we got there.
