At the Rink: Blue Jackets at Canadiens

MONTREAL -- Montreal Canadiens forward Daniel Carr won't play against Columbus Blue Jackets at Bell Centre on Tuesday (7:30 p.m.; FS-O, RDS, SNE).

Carr sustained a lower-body injury after he was hit by Blue Jackets defenseman Fedor Tyutin during the first period of Montreal's 5-2 loss in Columbus on Monday.

He left after the first period and Canadiens (24-21-4) coach Michel Therrien said after the game Carr would not be available Tuesday.

Neither team held a morning skate Tuesday.

Montreal, which won 3-2 in a shootout at the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday, has not won consecutive games since a four-game winning streak from Nov. 22-27, and has not won in regulation in seven games (1-5-1) since a 2-1 win against the New Jersey Devils on Jan. 6.

"We've got to play better [Tuesday]," captain Max Pacioretty said Monday. "We really need to play for 60 minutes and get the [win] before we go into the [All-Star] break. Everyone's frustrated with the way tonight's game went."

Montreal goalie Ben Scrivens will get his first start at home after Mike Condon made his third consecutive start Monday. Scrivens was acquired from the Edmonton Oilers on Dec. 28.

Blue Jackets (18-27-5) associate coach Craig Hartsburg will be in charge for a third straight game. Hartsburg is 1-0-1 while assuming coaching duties after coach John Tortorella was injured during an outdoor practice Friday.

Tortorella sustained two broken ribs after forward Rene Bourque hit a rut and collided with him during a drill.
