DraftKings daily fantasy value picks for Dec. 29

Each day during the 2015-16 season, NHL.com's fantasy staff will identify one player at each position worth owning in DraftKings daily fantasy hockey contests. Based on factors including but not limited to matchups, line combinations, power-play usage, statistical coverage and recent production, we'll provide you with lower-priced options that can help you build a winning lineup.

Players accumulate points in DraftKings for each goal (3 points), assist (2), shot on goal (0.5), blocked shot (0.5) and shootout goal (0.2). Bonuses are given for shorthanded points (1) and hat tricks (1.5). Goalies accumulate points for each win (3) and save (0.2), and lose a point for each goal allowed. Goalie bonuses are given for a shutout (2) where the goalie completes the entire game with no goals allowed in regulation (and overtime, if applicable). Shootout goals will not prevent a shutout, and goalies will receive points for any goals or assists they score in a game. Penalty minutes, hits, plus-minus and PP points DO NOT count in DraftKings. DraftKings lineups must include nine players (2 C, 3 W, 2 D, 1 G, 1 FLEX) and fit within the $50,000 salary cap.

Sven Andrighetto
, C, Montreal Canadiens

Prohibited and/or not available in AZ, IA, LA, MT, NV and WA. Offered in IL and NY pending litigation. See Official Rules for for additional eligibility rules.

DraftKings price: $2,700

Andrighetto was a healthy scratch for four consecutive games before coach Michel Therrien placed him on the third line with Tomas Plekanec ($5,300) and Tomas Fleischmann ($3,600) in a 4-3 win at the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday. The rookie made his case to remain in the lineup for at least the short term with an assist, one blocked shot and one shot on goal. Andrighetto can provide a lot of bang for the buck at the Florida Panthers considering all five of his points this season (one goal, four assists) have come in five road games.

Jeff Skinner, W, Carolina Hurricanes

DraftKings price: $4,500

It's important to dig up some lower-priced and likely lesser-owned players on a 10-game night in the NHL, and Skinner should be a quality value pick at the New Jersey Devils. Despite playing on the third line; Skinner is tied for the Hurricanes lead with 14 goals and is second with 101 SOG through 36 games. He has a good chance at a solid game against the Devils based on 13 points (eight goals, five assists) and 47 SOG in 18 road games this season, as well as 13 points (10 goals, three assists) and 60 SOG in 20 career games against New Jersey.

Duncan Keith, D, Chicago Blackhawks

DraftKings price: $5,500

Keith has a single four-game scoring drought through 27 games this season so the fact that he's been held scoreless the past two games should be a point of confidence for DraftKings owners. The Blackhawks top-tier defenseman at regular strength and on the power play should provide a decent return on investment at the Arizona Coyotes. He's been best on the road this season with 12 (four goals, eight assists) of his 18 points in 14 games away from United Center.

Thomas Greiss, G, New York Islanders

DraftKings price: $7,400

Greiss assumed the starting goaltender role for the Islanders on Sunday after veteran Jaroslav Halak was placed on injured reserve earlier that day, and will be looking for redemption at the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday following a 3-1 loss to Toronto on Dec. 27. The backup is in his seventh NHL season and a 9-5-2 record has him one win away from tying a career-high 10 wins achieved with the Coyotes in 2013-14. Greiss will seek to improve upon a 1-1-0 record, 65 saves on 68 shots against and 1.51 goals-against average in two career starts against the Maple Leafs.
