Avalanche put Johnson on IR, recall Elliott
DENVER – The Colorado Avalanche placed defenseman Erik Johnson on injured reserve today because of a groin injury and called up defenseman Stefan Elliott from the Lake Erie Monsters in the American Hockey League.

Elliott will be available for tonight’s game against the Edmonton Oilers at Pepsi Center. Elliott, 20, had two goals, seven assists and a plus-five rating with Lake Erie. He was a second-round pick (49th overall) in the 2009 Entry Draft.
