DraftKings daily fantasy value picks for Nov. 16

Each day during the 2015-16 season, NHL.com's fantasy staff will identify one player at each position worth owning in DraftKings daily fantasy hockey contests. Based on factors including but not limited to matchups, line combinations, power-play usage, statistical coverage and recent production, we'll provide you with lower-priced options that can help you build a winning lineup.

Players accumulate points in DraftKings for each goal (3 points), assist (2), shot on goal (0.5), blocked shot (0.5) and shootout goal (0.2). Bonuses are given for shorthanded points (1) and hat tricks (1.5). Goalies accumulate points for each win (3) and save (0.2), and lose a point for each goal allowed. Goalie bonuses are given for a shutout (2) where the goalie completes the entire game with no goals allowed in regulation (and overtime, if applicable). Shootout goals will not prevent a shutout, and goalies will receive points for any goals or assists they score in a game. Penalty minutes, hits, plus-minus and PP points DO NOT count in DraftKings. DraftKings lineups must include nine players (2 C, 3 W, 2 D, 1 G, 1 FLEX) and fit within the $50,000 salary cap.

Martin Hanzal
, C, Arizona Coyotes

DraftKings price: $4,300

Hanzal is among the NHL leaders with 14 assists in 15 games this season and finally broke what was a season-long 12-game goal drought by scoring twice in a 3-2 win at the Los Angeles Kings this past Tuesday. The veteran should continue providing DraftKings owners with fantasy points based primarily off assists as he centers the Coyotes' first line with young, high-scoring wings Tobias Rieder and Anthony Duclair. Hanzal will look to continue his strong play on the road when Arizona visits the New York Islanders on Monday as he has two goals, 10 assists, four blocked shots and 15 shots on goal in nine away games this season.

Bobby Ryan, W, Ottawa Senators

DraftKings price: $5,400

The days of being a top-notch fantasy threat with the potential for 30 goals appeared to be behind Ryan, but he is currently experiencing an offensive resurgence with six goals and nine assists in 15 games this season. The veteran forward, who primarily plays on the second line and sees top-unit power-play minutes, is in the midst of a five-game point streak with one goal and four assists along with 11 shots on goal in that span. Ryan is a safe choice as a value pick Monday when the Senators host the Detroit Red Wings as he has 13 goals, seven assists, seven blocked shots and 83 shots on goal in 29 games against Detroit.

Colton Parayko, D, St. Louis Blues

DraftKings price: $4,200

The Blues rookie has been mentioned in our DraftKings daily fantasy value picks blog before but warrants continued recommendation since his price has not increased but the fantasy points remain consistent. Parayko is tied for second among defensemen Monday with a 3.9 fantasy-points-per-game average, but is a respective $1,300 and $1,500 cheaper than the New York Islanders' Johnny Boychuk and the Carolina Hurricanes' Justin Faulk. DraftKings owners should continue rolling with Parayko when the Blues host the Winnipeg Jets as he had one assist, one blocked shot and three shots on goal in a 4-2 win at Winnipeg on Oct. 18.

Frederik Andersen, G, Anaheim Ducks

DraftKings price: $6,900

Andersen has gone five consecutive games without a regulation loss (3-0-2) after beginning the season 0-5-2. Owners should follow the Ducks game-day news Monday before they begin their road game against the Carolina Hurricanes at 7 p.m. ET to see who coach Bruce Boudreau selects as his starting goaltender. The downside to choosing Andersen is the Danish goalie is 0-4-1 on the road this season, but the upside is he's heating up and has a 2-0-0 record with 77 saves on 84 shots in two starts against the Hurricanes.
