DraftKings daily fantasy value picks for Nov. 8

Each day during the 2015-16 season, NHL.com's fantasy staff will identify one player at each position worth owning in DraftKings daily fantasy hockey contests. Based on factors including but not limited to matchups, line combinations, power-play usage, statistical coverage and recent production, we'll provide you with lower-priced options that can help you build a winning lineup.

Players accumulate points in DraftKings for each goal (3 points), assist (2), shot on goal (0.5), blocked shot (0.5) and shootout goal (0.2). Bonuses are given for shorthanded points (1) and hat tricks (1.5). Goalies accumulate points for each win (3) and save (0.2), and lose a point for each goal allowed. Goalie bonuses are given for a shutout (2) where the goalie completes the entire game with no goals allowed in regulation (and overtime, if applicable). Shootout goals will not prevent a shutout, and goalies will receive points for any goals or assists they score in a game. Penalty minutes, hits, plus-minus and PP points DO NOT count in DraftKings. DraftKings lineups must include nine players (2 C, 3 W, 2 D, 1 G, 1 FLEX) and fit within the $50,000 salary cap.

Anders Lee, C, New York Islanders

DraftKings price: $4,800

The Islanders feature a well-balanced scoring attack, and while Lee mainly has been seeing third-line minutes this season, he's been good enough to warrant consideration as a value pick in DraftKings. He has played with captain and Islanders scoring leader John Tavares on the top power-play unit and is tied for the Islanders lead with 38 shots on goal in 14 games. Lee has one goal, one assist and 12 shots on goal in his past four games and will aim to continue the strong play as the Islanders host a Boston Bruins team Sunday (5 p.m. ET; TVA Sports) that is 28th in the League at 3.38 goals-allowed per game.

Teuvo Teravainen, W, Chicago Blackhawks

DraftKings price: $4,100

Teravainen has been playing top-six minutes recently; he's played an average of 17:23 the past two games. He'll try to extend his point streak to four games against the Edmonton Oilers at United Center on Sunday (8 p.m. ET; NHLN, SN). He has two goals, two assists, one blocked shot and six shots on goal during his three-game point streak. And home is where the offense has been for Teravainen this season; all four of his goals and six of his seven points this season have come in eight home games.

John Klingberg D, Dallas Stars

DraftKings price: $5,200

A nearly point-per-game player at an affordable price is who DraftKings owners should be aiming for and Klingberg fits that description. He has two goals and 11 assists in 14 games this season, and the second-year defenseman has at least one point in 10 of his first 14 games. Klingberg should be a fine play at the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday; he has one assist, one blocked shot and five shots on goal in two career games against Detroit. He also has one goal, five assists, seven blocked shots and 14 shots on goal in eight road games this season.

Cory Schneider, G, New Jersey Devils

DraftKings price $6,900

Considering the Vancouver Canucks, the Devils' opponent Sunday, are playing the back end of a back-to-back that started at the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday, Schneider could be a great value pick if he gets the start. In the other net will be either Ryan Miller playing his second game in as many days or backup Richard Bachman. No matter who is at the other end of the ice at Prudential Center on Sunday, DraftKings owners should have confidence in Schneider, who has a 3-1-0 record with a 1.72 goals-against average and 110 saves on 117 shots in his past four games.
