DraftKings daily fantasy value picks for Nov. 7

Each day during the 2015-16 season, NHL.com's fantasy staff will identify one player at each position worth owning in DraftKings daily fantasy hockey contests. Based on factors including but not limited to matchups, line combinations, power-play usage, statistical coverage and recent production, we'll provide you with lower-priced options that can help you build a winning lineup.

Players accumulate points in DraftKings for each goal (3 points), assist (2), shot on goal (0.5), blocked shot (0.5) and shootout goal (0.2). Bonuses are given for shorthanded points (1) and hat tricks (1.5). Goalies accumulate points for each win (3) and save (0.2), and lose a point for each goal allowed. Goalie bonuses are given for a shutout (2) where the goalie completes the entire game with no goals allowed in regulation (and overtime, if applicable). Shootout goals will not prevent a shutout, and goalies will receive points for any goals or assists they score in a game. Penalty minutes, hits, plus-minus and PP points DO NOT count in DraftKings. DraftKings lineups must include nine players (2 C, 3 W, 2 D, 1 G, 1 FLEX) and fit within the $50,000 salary cap.

NOTE: These picks are for the 9-game night contests on Nov. 7 and does not include players from the 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. games.

Bryan Little, C, Winnipeg Jets

DraftKings price: $5,300

Little has been a fantasy star this season as part of the Jets' top line with forwards Blake Wheeler and Andrew Ladd. With 13 points (six goals, seven assists) over 14 games, Little is poised to pass his career high of 64 points set in 2013-14. DraftKings owners have many sources for fantasy points with Little, including five blocked shots, two shorthanded goals and 30 shots on goal this season. Little has done well against the Philadelphia Flyers, the Jets' opponent Saturday, with six goals, seven assists, 10 blocked shots and 55 shots on goal in 25 games.

Mike Hoffman, W, Ottawa Senators

DraftKings price: $4,900

Hoffman missed four games with a lower-body injury to close out October but returned with an assist, two blocked shots and four shots on goal over two games against the Montreal Canadiens and Jets. The second-line wing is averaging a point per game this season with four goals and five assists over nine games. The Senators visit the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday which should give DraftKings owners confidence with Carolina averaging 2.92 goals against in 13 games. Hoffman has one goal, four assists, three blocked shots and 14 shots on goal in five road games this season.

TJ Brodie, D, Calgary Flames

DraftKings price: $4,200

Brodie returned to the Flames' lineup on Oct. 28 after missing the first nine games of the season with an injured hand. The defenseman has paired with different teammates through his five games back, including captain Mark Giordano in a 2-1 win Thursday against the Philadelphia Flyers. DraftKings owners can get good bang for their buck with Brodie as the Flames host the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday. He has one goal, two assists, seven blocked shots and five shots on goal since rejoining the Calgary lineup.

Braden Holtby or Philipp Grubauer, G, Washington Capitals

DraftKings price $7,900 (Holtby) or $6,900 (Grubauer)

Either Holtby or Grubauer should be excellent picks for Saturday against the visiting Toronto Maple Leafs based on the Maple Leafs averaging 2.08 goals per game in 13 games. Capitals goalies, meanwhile, are getting major support by way of a 3.33 goals-per-game average over 12 games. If coach Barry Trotz goes with regular starter Holtby, then DraftKings owners can rest easy in selecting him since he is 4-1-1 with 163 saves on 171 shots and a 1.48 goals-against average in six games against Toronto. The Capitals tweeted Saturday morning that Holtby was the first goalie off the ice at practice.
