Center Trent Frederic, a B-rated skater on NHL Central Scouting's September players to watch list for the 2016 NHL Draft, scored with 32 seconds remaining in the second period to give the United States National Under-18 Team a 4-3 victory against Sweden at the 2015 Five Nations Tournament at Patinoire de Monthey in Switzerland.
Frederic had a U.S.-high seven shots on goal. The 6-foot-2, 203-pound left-shot forward is committed to the University of Wisconsin in 2016-17.
Center Clayton Keller, an A-rated skater for the 2016 draft, was named player of the game for the U.S. Keller, who will attend Boston University in 2016-17, had two assists and six shots on goal.
The U.S. trailed 2-1 after one period but U.S. left wing Kieffer Bellows, an A-rated prospect, scored 1:16 into the second to tie the game 2-2. Linus Lindstrom, a C-rated prospect, gave Sweden a 3-2 lead when he scored a shorthanded goal 8:43 into the second.
Graham McPhee, who is listed as a C-rated prospect and will attend Boston College in 2016-17, tied the game 3-3 at 10:27 on a power-play goal.
The U.S. will next play Finland on Saturday at 9 a.m. ET.
