Buffalo Sabres defenseman Tyler Myers had surgery to repair a broken wrist and will be out for at least a month, the team announced Monday.
Myers suffered the injury during the second period of Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Phoenix Coyotes. It caused him to miss the entire third period.
The 22-year-old who won the Calder Trophy two seasons ago was off to a rough start, but he had a two-goal game against the New Jersey Devils on Wednesday and appeared to be finding his way.
For the season, Myers has 2 goals, 4 assists and a minus-4 rating in 19 games.
The team also announced Monday afternoon that they recalled defenseman TJ Brennan from the American Hockey League.
