DraftKings daily fantasy value picks for Nov. 4

Each day during the 2015-16 season, NHL.com's fantasy staff will identify one player at each position worth owning in DraftKings daily fantasy hockey contests. Based on factors including but not limited to matchups, line combinations, power-play usage, statistical coverage and recent production, we'll provide you with lower-priced options that can help you build a winning lineup.

Players accumulate points in DraftKings for each goal (3 points), assist (2), shot on goal (0.5), blocked shot (0.5) and shootout goal (0.2). Bonuses are given for shorthanded points (1) and hat tricks (1.5). Goalies accumulate points for each win (3) and save (0.2), and lose a point for each goal allowed. Goalie bonuses are given for a shutout (2) where the goalie completes the entire game with no goals allowed in regulation (and overtime, if applicable). Shootout goals will not prevent a shutout, and goalies will receive points for any goals or assists they score in a game. Penalty minutes, hits, plus-minus and PP points DO NOT count in DraftKings. DraftKings lineups must include nine players (2 C, 3 W, 2 D, 1 G, 1 FLEX) and fit within the $50,000 salary cap.

Vincent Trocheck, C, Florida Panthers

DraftKings price: $3,800

Trocheck had seven goals and 22 points in 50 games with the Panthers last season but already has nine points in 11 games. While he hasn't taken many shots (15 on the season) he is an important part of the Panthers' power play, having scored five of his nine points with the man-advantage. He's averaging 3.0 DraftKings points per contest and if wing Jaromir Jagr remains out against the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday, Trocheck could benefit with more ice time. His price is half as much as the top centers in this contest, which means you can pick him up and spend more money elsewhere.

Nikolaj Ehlers, W, Winnipeg Jets

DraftKings price: $4,800

Not only do I like the matchup against the struggling Toronto Maple Leafs, I like the way the rookie has played all season. Ehlers has four goals and nine points in 12 games while racking up shots (43). He has a point in six of his past seven games and averages 3.7 DraftKings points per contest. He's more than $3,000 cheaper than Patrick Kane ($7,900) the most expensive wing in the contest, and should provide bang for your buck. As hot as he is and as poor as the Maple Leafs are playing, there's no reason to believe he won't find the scoresheet again.

Colton Parayko, D, St. Louis Blues

DraftKings price: $3,700

The rookie defenseman has four goals and seven points in 12 games, but it doesn't stop there. Parayko has 22 blocked shots (almost two per game) and has taken 31 shots (almost three per game). Last week he had 10 shots against the Anaheim Ducks. That's a high total for anyone, let alone a rookie defenseman. Only Brent Seabrook (3.8) has averaged more DraftKings points per contest than Parayko (3.7), a steal at $2,100 less than the highest-priced defenseman in the contest, Dustin Byfuglien ($5,800).

Ondrej Pavelec, G, Winnipeg Jets

DraftKings price: $6,600

Pavelec is $1,200 cheaper than the most expensive goalie in the contest (Corey Crawford, $7,800) and has a favorable matchup against the Maple Leafs, who have two wins in 11 games. Toronto has scored 24 goals, barely more than two per game. Pavelec has allowed two goals or fewer in each of his past three starts and is averaging 3.7 DraftKings points per contest. If Michael Hutchinson ends up starting, grab him. At $6,500, he's a steal going 4-1-0 with a .925 save percentage and averaging 5.6 DraftKings points per contest.
