At the Rink: Wild at Ducks

ANAHEIM — Through four games, goals have been elusive for the Anaheim Ducks.

Sami Vatanen scored Anaheim's lone goal of the season in its home-opening 2-1 shootout loss to the Vancouver Canucks on Monday.

The Ducks are hoping they will be able to get the offense going Sunday against the Minnesota Wild (8 p.m. ET; NHLN, FS-N, FS-WI, PRIME, FS-SD), who they have defeated in nine of their past 10 games.

"I kind of believe there would be pressure release everywhere," Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau said after practice Saturday. "I think the fans are dying to cheer for a goal. You can see it."

Anaheim defensemen Clayton Stoner and Simon Despres were placed on injured reserve Saturday. Stoner has a lower-body injury that Boudreau described as lingering, and Despres sustained an upper-body injury against the Colorado Avalanche on Friday on a hit by Tyson Barrie, who has been suspended for three games for charging and interference.

The Ducks recalled defensemen Shea Theodore and Korbinian Holzer from San Diego of the American Hockey League. Theodore is the top defense prospect in the system, and Holzer was acquired from the Toronto Maple Leafs at the 2015 NHL Trade Deadline.

The Wild are coming off of their first loss of the season, 2-1 in overtime to the Los Angeles Kings on Friday. Goalie Devan Dubnyk sat out the game with the Wild starting backup Darcy Kuemper, but Dubnyk is expected to be in net.

Here are the projected lineups:

WILD

Zach Parise - Mikael Granlund - Jason Pominville

Jason Zucker - Mikko Koivu - Nino Niederreiter

Thomas Vanek - Charlie Coyle - Justin Fontaine

Chris Porter - Erik Haula - Ryan Carter

Ryan Suter - Jared Spurgeon

Jonas Brodin - Matt Dumba

Marco Scandella - Christian Folin

Devan Dubnyk

Darcy Kuemper

Injured: Tyler Graovac (lower body)

Scratched: Nate Prosser, Niklas Backstrom

DUCKS

Patrick Maroon - Ryan Getzlaf - Corey Perry

Andrew Cogliano - Ryan Kesler - Jakob Silfverberg

Jiri Sekac - Rickard Rakell - Chris Stewart

Carl Hagelin - Chris Wagner - Tim Jackman

Hampus Lindholm - Kevin Bieksa

Sami Vatanen - Korbinian Holzer

Cam Fowler - Josh Manson

Frederik Andersen

Anton Khudobin

Injured: Nate Thompson (shoulder), Clayton Stoner (lower body), Simon Despres (upper body)

Scratched: Shawn Horcoff, Mike Santorelli, Shea Theodore

Status report: If Holzer draws into the lineup, it would be the first time since he was traded to Anaheim on March 2. Holzer did not play with the Ducks last season because of a concussion and depth at the blue line. … Theodore would be making his NHL debut.

Who's hot: Parise has seven points. Three of his five goals have come on the power play. … Kesler has 24 career goals against the Wild.… Linemates Getzlaf and Perry each has 32 points in 35 games against Minnesota.
