Predators send first-round pick Fiala to AHL

The Nashville Predators assigned forward Kevin Fiala and 21 others to their American Hockey League affiliate Saturday.

Fiala, the 11th pick in the 2014 NHL Draft, had two assists and seven shots on goal in four preseason games while averaging 14:23 of ice time. He had 11 goals and 20 points in 33 games for the Admirals last season, and a goal and two assists in eight games for Switzerland at the 2014 IIHF World Junior Championship.

The Predators also assigned Yakov Trenin, their second-round pick (No. 55) in the 2015 draft, to Gatineau of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Their NHL training camp roster is at 28 players.
