Canucks' Higgins sustains bone fracture in foot

Vancouver Canucks forward Chris Higgins sustained a bone fracture on his right foot during a preseason game against the San Jose Sharks and will be re-evaluated in three weeks, the team announced Tuesday.

The injury occurred when Higgins blocked a shot by Sharks defenseman Brenden Dillon during the Kraft Hockeyville game on Monday in Victoria, British Columbia. The Canucks won the game 1-0 in overtime.

Higgins, 32, had 12 goals and 24 assists in 77 games for Vancouver last season.
