Maple Leafs send 10 players to AHL Toronto

The Toronto Maple Leafs trimmed their training camp roster to 53 players Sunday.

Ten players were reassigned to Toronto of the American Hockey league: Eric Faille, T.J. Foster, Justin Holl, Justin Johnson, Max Nicastro, Jack Rodewald, Matt Rupert, Ryan Rupert, Nikolai Skladnichenko and Brady Vail.

The Carolina Hurricanes trimmed their training camp roster by eight players, bringing the total number of players in camp to 49.

The Hurricanes will play their first two exhibition games on Monday at the Washington Capitals and Tuesday at the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The Arizona Coyotes assigned four players to their respective junior teams.

The Coyotes now have 56 players remaining in training camp.

The Calgary Flames assigned Tyson Baillie, Riley Bruce, Pavel Karnaukhov and Mason Marchment to their respective junior teams and released Taylor Burke from training camp.

The Nashville Predators assigned defenseman Jack Dougherty and goaltender Evan Smith to their junior teams.

Nashville's training camp roster is now at 51 players – 29 forwards, 17 defensemen and five goaltenders.
