Devils' Henrique 'feels great' after wrist surgery

New Jersey Devils center Adam Henrique said he "feels great" following wrist surgery five months ago and will be in the lineup in the preseason opener against the Boston Bruins on Sunday in Providence, R.I.

Henrique, who scored a goal during a scrimmage Saturday, had surgery on April 16 to repair two torn ligaments in his left wrist.

"It feels great," Henrique told The (Bergen) Record. "It's nice to be able to shoot the puck, but it feels good on the ice. No issues, so I'm very happy with how everything has been going. We took care of everything over the summertime. It's just nice to be able to be back on the ice with the guys."

Henrique admitted that shooting the puck "was an issue at times" last season. He led the Devils in scoring with 43 points (16 goals, 27 assists) in 75 games.

"It just wasn't right," he said. "So, it's nice to be able to be back 100 percent and something that is not on my mind and something I don't have to worry about."
