Patrick Kaleta signed a one-year contract with Rochester of the American Hockey League on Saturday and will attend Buffalo Sabres training camp next week on a professional tryout contract.
Kaleta, 29, who was an unrestricted free agent following the 2014-15 season, was selected by Buffalo in the fourth round of the 2004 NHL Draft (No. 176) and has spent his entire nine-season career with the Sabres. In 348 games, he has 27 goals, 54 points and 542 penalty minutes. Last season, he had three assists and 36 penalty minutes in 42 games, missing significant time after sustaining a broken face when he was hit with a puck during the preseason.
