Boston Bruins defenseman Kevan Miller said Friday he is ahead of schedule in his recovery from shoulder surgery that ended his 2014-15 season in February.
"I got about six months -- a little bit more than six months -- of recovery now, so I think it's ahead of schedule, if you want to say that," Miller told the Bruins website.
Miller dislocated his right shoulder on Oct. 18, then played his last game Feb. 16, finishing with two goals and five assists in 41 games. He led the Bruins with a plus-20 rating.
The 27-year-old said he is fully prepared for training camp this month.
"I feel really good, really good. Shoulder feels good, body feels good," Miller said. "Just really happy to be back. …
"About a month ago, I really started to really make some strides, so [I've] had plenty of time now and I'm real excited to test it against some good competition here."
Miller will try to make a top six led by Zdeno Chara, Torey Krug and Dennis Seidenberg. Matt Irwin was signed as a free agent, and Zach Trotman, Joe Morrow and Colin Miller are in the mix.
