Desjardins brings Stanley Cup to hometown arena

Chicago Blackhawks forward Andrew Desjardins and his family spent Monday morning with the Stanley Cup before letting fans in his hometown of Lively, Ontario, see it.

Desjardins, 28, who last week agreed to terms on a two-year, $1.6 million contract to remain with the Blackhawks, took the Cup first to a playground then to Tom Davies Arena, where fans took photos and got his autograph. There was also a parade with the Cup in nearby Sudbury.

Prior to the parade, Desjardins, his wife and their young son, Ames, posed for a picture with the Cup.

Desjardins was traded to Chicago on March 2 and became a staple on the fourth line with Marcus Kruger and Andrew Shaw during the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
