BUFFALO -- Erie Otters forward Dylan Strome had some help in his adjustment to the Ontario Hockey League from his older brother Ryan Strome, who spent four seasons in the OHL with the Barrie Colts and Niagara IceDogs.

Now, Strome can do the same for the third brother in the family, Matthew, who was drafted by the Hamilton Bulldogs with the eighth pick of the 2015 OHL draft.

"We're talking," Dylan said. "It's really early, he just got drafted. Throughout the summer we'll talk."

It's likely they'll be similar conversations to the ones he and Ryan have had during the past few seasons as Dylan developed into a top prospect for the 2015 NHL Draft and Ryan into a top-six forward with the New York Islanders.

Dylan Strome led the OHL in scoring with 129 points this season. He's No. 4 on NHL Central Scouting's final ranking of North American skaters for the 2015 draft.

"I talk to him a lot," Dylan said of Ryan. "He didn't really tell me too much about the [NHL Scouting] Combine or the draft. He helped me out through the year when I needed something. We're really close and he really helped me out a lot throughout the year. We're pretty close with everything. Whenever we need something we'd talk to each other. If he needed help with something I'd help him or he would help me. We have a really close relationship with him and with my younger brother."

Dylan was in the stands at Xcel Energy Center when Ryan was drafted by the Islanders with the fifth pick of the 2011 draft, and now Ryan will be there for Dylan's big day at the 2015 draft, which will be held June 26-27 at BB&T Center in Sunrise, Fla.

Looking back, Dylan said it was hard for him to imagine on that day in Minnesota that he could be in the same position.

"I didn't know at that time if it could be a reality or not," he said. "It's pretty cool to see. It's interesting to see what we were like a long time ago. Now we're living in the moment."
