Waterloo Black Hawks forward Brock Boeser, a top prospect for the 2015 NHL Draft, was named to the United States Hockey League All-Rookie First Team on Friday.
Boeser, a 6-foot, 191-pound right wing, is No. 27 on NHL Central Scouting's final ranking of North American skaters for the 2015 draft. He tied for the USHL lead with 35 goals, and was third with 68 points in 57 games. His 15 power-play goals were second in the league, and his 32 power-play points were tied for first. He had 10 multigoal games, including three hat tricks.
He's committed to attend the University of North Dakota next season.
Three other prospects for the 2015 draft were named to the First Team.
Cedar Rapids RoughRiders left wing Erik Foley, a 5-11, 185-pound forward, is No. 51 on Central Scouting's list. He led Cedar Rapids with 54 points and was second with 27 goals. He's committed to Providence College for the 2016-17 season.
Chicago Steel defenseman Dennis Gilbert (6-2, 201), had four goals and 23 assists in 59 games. He's No. 58 on Central Scouting's rankings and is committed to the University of Notre Dame next season.
Sioux City Musketeers defenseman Ryan Zuhlsdorf (5-11, 188) had three goals and 19 assists in 56 games, and his plus-25 rating led all defensemen. He's No. 202 on Central Scouting's list, and is committed to the University of Minnesota for the 2016-17 season.
Among the 2015 draft prospects named to the Second Team were Sioux City forward Robert Carpenter, Chicago right wing Tanner Laczynski, Waterloo center Thomas Novak (No. 28 on Central Scouting's rankings), Cedar Rapids defenseman Mitch Reinke, Green Bay Gamblers defenseman Vili Saarijarvi and Cedar Rapids goaltender Benjamin Blacker.
Sioux Falls Stampede forward Kieffer Bellows, a prospect for the 2016 NHL Draft, was named the league's rookie of the year.
