The Anaheim Ducks are used to waiting to resume play in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and on Tuesday again tried to make the most of their time between series.
"We're still in the midst of putting all of our scouting stuff together," coach Bruce Boudreau told the Ducks website Tuesday. "We'll start ramping it up. We'll be ready for [Game 1], whether it's three days of rest or six days of rest. It doesn't matter. Whatever rest we have, they've had more. Both teams are going in fairly healthy, and that's the way it should go."
The Ducks and Chicago Blackhawks will play in the Western Conference Final, with Game 1 at Honda Center undetermined. Anaheim ended its second-round series against the Calgary Flames in five games, clinching it Sunday. Chicago completed a sweep of the Minnesota Wild on Thursday.
Forward Corey Perry, who scored in overtime to win Game 5 against the Flames, did not participate in the Ducks' hour-long practice Tuesday. He left that game briefly after appearing to injure his leg.
"Just a maintenance day," Boudreau said. "He'll be back on the ice next practice."
The Ducks played four regular-season games in the final 11 days, then swept the Winnipeg Jets in the Western Conference First Round, giving them seven days off before playing the Flames. Anaheim has played 13 games in six weeks.
"We can't be too high after winning one or two series," Ducks defenseman Francois Beauchemin said. "You have to keep going. Our goal is to win 16 games. It's not to win eight, 10 or 12. We were a happy group after Game 5 [against Calgary], but we have to start all over again."
