BROSSARD, Quebec -- Montreal Canadiens coach Michel Therrien is going with the same lineup he used Friday against the Tampa Bay Lightning for Game 2 of their Eastern Conference Second Round series Sunday at Bell Centre (6 p.m. ET; CBC, TVA Sports, NBCSN).

Therrien said Montreal created 29 scoring chances against Tampa Bay goalie Ben Bishop in its 2-1 loss in double-overtime loss in Game 1.

"We generated a lot of scoring chances and we got some net-front presence, but Bishop was really good," Therrien said after the morning skate Sunday. "We've got to give the guy a lot of credit."

Canadiens right wing Brendan Gallagher said he is encouraged by the scoring chances he and his teammates were able to generate in the series opener.

"We're confident that if we play that way for seven games, if we continue to battle, continue to compete, play with the energy that we had, at the end of the seven-game series we'd be pretty confident in our effort, and regardless of if you come out with the result we'd be pretty proud of ourselves," Gallagher said. "If you continue to do the right things over and over again you just have to have that belief that eventually the right things are going to happen and eventually you'll come out on the winning side."

Montreal's loss Friday was its sixth in a row to the Lightning this season in the wake of the Canadiens' four-game first-round sweep of Tampa Bay in the 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

"I think every game is huge no matter what the scenario is," Canadiens right wing Dale Weise said. "We're going into it like it's Game 1 for us. We liked our game in Game 1, we want to come out with the same start, come out and get a win (Sunday) and the series is tied 1-1."

Tampa Bay and Montreal have each struggled on the power play in the playoffs. The Canadiens went 0-for-3 in Game 1 and have scored once on 23 opportunities.

Weise said he likes the Canadiens' chances in the series if Montreal's defense can limit the NHL's top offensive team to two goals per game.

"We know it's going to be a 3-2, 2-1 game. That's the games we play, those are the ones we like so we don't get discouraged very often," Weise said. "We know we don't score a lot. That being said, just keep doing the same things. Get to the net, keep getting rebounds, our power play is going to kick a few in for us here soon so we're feeling good about our offense."

Status report: Therrien used three defenseman on the power play in Game 1. Subban played all 6:00 on the Canadiens' three opportunities, Petry played 2:43, and Markov played 3:16. Gilbert was credited with one second of power-play time.

Who's hot: Price has a 1.85 goals-against-average and a .940 save percentage in seven playoff games. Pacioretty has goals in each of his past two games.
