ANAHEIM -- Calgary Flames forward Drew Shore will likely play in Game 1 of the Western Conference Second Round against the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday at Honda Center (10 p.m. ET; NBCSN, SN, TVA Sports), coach Bob Hartley said.

Shore took the place of right wing Mason Raymond in line rushes, and Raymond stayed out for extra work at the morning skate.

"Decisions are not final," Hartley said. "We have some nice options, but there's a possibility that Drew Shore could be in."

Shore would make his Stanley Cup Playoffs debut. Raymond played four games against his former team, the Vancouver Canucks, in the first round and had one point with a minus-2 rating.

A major storyline is that each team is adept at rallying. Anaheim won an NHL-best 12 games when trailing after two periods in the regular season and did so three times in the first round against the Winnipeg Jets. Calgary won 10 games when trailing after two and was 2-1 in the first round.

"It's important for both teams and it's going to be great for TV ratings because no one's going to leave," Hartley said. "But at the same time, they're two teams with unbelievable workers on both teams … they have confidence that they can come back, and we have confidence that we can come back. We were down 3-0 [to Vancouver in Game 6 of the first round], on the bench, and it was as calm as if we were up 3-0. No one lost faith. Everyone kept going."

Goalie Jonas Hiller will start against Anaheim for the first time in the playoffs. He used to own a house in nearby Newport Beach and spent seven seasons with the Ducks, but the familiarity has worn off and he's ready to get started.

"It's kind of like every time I come back, it feels less and less [like home]," Hiller said. "But at the same time, I know a lot of people here that's around the rink. I'm really familiar and it brings back memories, but … I'm not here to enjoy California. I'm here to play hockey and hopefully get a few wins."
