ANAHEIM -- Anaheim Ducks center Nate Thompson will likely be a game-time decision for Game 1 of the Western Conference Second Round against the Calgary Flames on Thursday (10 p.m. ET; NBCSN, SN TVA Sports), Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau said.
Thompson missed the first round with an upper-body injury sustained in the regular-season finale April 11. He has resumed skating and did some line rushes Tuesday with left wing Emerson Etem and right wing Tim Jackman.
"I don't know, we'll see," Thompson said. "I'm just going to keep practicing every day and see how it feels and go from there."
Thompson is adept at faceoffs and has fit the fourth-line center role well. Anaheim filled in with center Chris Wagner, who is out with an upper-body injury, and left wing Tomas Fleischmann, during the first round.
Thompson said he is anxious to return.
"I'm not a good watcher," he said. "I'm definitely ready to get back."
Boudreau said goalie John Gibson is fine after missing the first round with an upper-body injury. Veteran goalie Jason LaBarbera, who backed up Frederik Andersen, is no longer practicing on the ice with Anaheim.
