TAMPA -- The way Detroit Red Wings coach Mike Babcock sees it, each side is even now after the Tampa Bay Lightning staged a comeback win in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference First Round series.
"We stole Game 1 and they stole [Game 4]," Babcock said after the 3-2 overtime loss Thursday. "So it should be 2-2 and it's the best-of-3."
The roller-coaster ride that's been this best-of-7 series returns to Amalie Arena on Saturday for Game 5 (6 p.m. ET; NBCSN, CBC, TVA Sports, FS-D, FS-F). The Red Wings will try to win their second game on the road to set the opportunity to clinch the series at Joe Louis Arena on Monday.
"Every championship team I've been around has faced adversity," Babcock said after practice Friday. "You never get better without adversity."
The next task for the Red Wings will be to stop Lightning forward Tyler Johnson, who has four goals in the series and scored in overtime Thursday.
Babcock will likely keep Pavel Datsyuk and Luke Glendening on the assignment, but defenseman Niklas Kronwall said it needs to be a team effort.
"We have to do a better job of slowing him down," Kronwall said. "That's easier when [Glendening] is on the ice, but even when he's not we have to take away his space. We made some mistakes and he took advantage of them."
Glendening missed the final 7:28 of regulation and the overtime period in Game 4 to receive stitches for his hand. He will play Saturday and looks forward to the challenge of keeping Johnson at bay.
"They are a tough line to play against," Glendening said of the unit also featuring Ondrej Palat and Nikita Kucherov. "They are highly skilled and dynamic. But I will help the team in any capacity they need me to. If that means just playing a couple minutes or playing against that line, it's good."
