NEW YORK -- New York Rangers defenseman Kevin Klein, who has been out of the lineup while recovering from a broken left arm sustained last month, skated prior to practice Thursday and remains questionable for Game 5 of the Eastern Conference First Round series against the Pittsburgh Penguins at Madison Square Garden on Friday (7 p.m. ET; NBCSN, SN, TVA Sports 2, ROOT, MSG).
Rangers coach Alain Vigneault said Klein, defenseman Keith Yandle and forward Mats Zuccarello took maintenance days Thursday. He said he expects Yandle and Zuccarello to be in the lineup Friday; Klein he wasn't as sure about.
"Klein was still a little sore from practice [Wednesday] so we'll see how he reacts and responds at the morning skate [Friday]," Vigneault said.
Vigneault gave Klein a "50/50 chance to play [in Game 5]."
Klein sustained a broken left arm after being hit by a slap shot by Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin on March 11. He was cleared to skate with teammates April 20.
